The Art of Reflection

How many times have you stopped yourself from doing something because you allowed your doubt to get the better of you?
Have your insecurities and negative self-talk steered you away from what you knew needed to be done?
How many internal conversations will it take to finally convince you to take that all important first step?
When was the last time you found your thoughts spiralling out of control, overthinking the finite details of seemingly simple conversation?
Is a paralysis by analysis or information overload a common occurrence for you?
Such is the significance of action over thought.
Action is a conscious effort to be proactive.
Action is a deliberate and intentional undertaking of a task.
Action is the sometimes mundane, sometimes stimulating process of doing the work.
Action is progress; moving steadily towards a goal.
Without action, execution is impossible.
That’s because action delivers; it gets results irrespective of whether they are positive or negative.
This means, by action, we grow through the process; we learn by doing.
Stagnation is guaranteed if we are unwilling to take action; to sit, reflect and think; to do nothing at all.
Regardless of which decision you are tossing up; which conversation you are considering having; which direction your next venture will be in; what matters is that you do something. What matters is that you take action.
Whether it is a positive or negative outcome, you are guaranteed a lesson in the process.
